This website

sooslabs.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics. There is no tracking script on any page. The one script the site loads does nothing but focus the lens on the front page when you move the mouse.

The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived request logs for security and abuse prevention. Soos Labs does not use those logs to build any picture of you.

The contact form

What you type into the form is turned into an email, delivered to a support inbox, and that is the end of it. There is no database and no ticketing system behind it. If you leave an email address it is used to answer you and nothing else.

To stop the form being used to send spam, your IP address is counted for one hour — a number against your address, which deletes itself — and included in the message so abuse can be recognised. No log of visits is kept.

Astra

Your birth date, time and place are stored in your own browser and are used to compute your chart on your device. They are not transmitted to any server, so there is nothing held about you anywhere.

Clearing your browser data removes them. There is no backup and no way to recover them, which is the trade-off for never having sent them anywhere.

Outside

To open on your city, Outside works out an approximate location from your IP address. That lookup is not stored and is not tied to any identifier.

Saved cities and your temperature unit live in your browser, not on a server.

ReadQR

The camera stream is processed in your browser. Frames and decoded codes are never uploaded, and no scan history is sent anywhere.

Access to your camera is requested by the browser and can be revoked at any time in your browser settings.

getmyip

Your IP address is used to answer your request and is not stored afterwards. Visitors get no cookies.

getmyip is the one product with optional accounts, because API keys need an owner. If you sign up, an email address is held so keys can be issued and revoked, along with a hash of each key — never the key itself. Signing in sets one session cookie, which does nothing but keep you signed in.

Payment for the Pro plan is handled by an external payment provider. Card details are entered on their page and are never seen or stored by Soos Labs.

App stores

Where an app is distributed through Google Play or the App Store, the store handles installation and any purchase. Apple and Google provide their own aggregate statistics — install counts, crash reports and the like — under their own privacy policies. Soos Labs receives no personal data from them.

Children

None of these products are directed at children, and none of them collect personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anything material will be called out on this page rather than slipped in.
